Custom Suits VS. Made to Measure Suits
Many people do not know the difference between a truly custom suit and a made to measure suit. Custom suits have much more detail and craftmanship. It takes years of training for a tailor to become a master tailor, as they use a process called body mapping. A pattern is made from the measurements of the customer’s unique body shape. No two people are alike, so each pattern is individually hand cut. A custom suit has a lot of detailed hand work and the inner construction is made of extravegant fabrics. The inner front has a canvas for shape and stability while made to measure has far less detail. A made to measure suit is a machine-made garment made from a computer-generated pattern. A customer tries on a standard suit size that is the closest to the customer and minimal adjustments are made. Then, a garment is produced incorporating these changes. Because of this, made to measure suits are less work and the inner makings are glued. Since no hand work is involved, made to measure suits are less expensive than custom suits and don’t fit every body.
